Dr. Soderstrom brings more than three decades of experience in veterinary surgery and neurological disease to Veterinary Outpatient MRI. A native of Nevada, he graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993 before completing a small animal internship at Sonora Veterinary Surgery and Oncology and a surgical residency at Oklahoma State University.

Following his residency, Dr. Soderstrom pursued advanced postdoctoral training in veterinary neurology through a clinical instructorship at North Carolina State University, where he focused on the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders. This additional training provided extensive experience in neurological examinations, advanced imaging, neurosurgical case evaluation, and the medical and surgical treatment of diseases affecting the brain and spinal cord.

Through his practice, Soderstrom Veterinary Surgery, Dr. Soderstrom works closely with primary care veterinarians, emergency clinicians, radiologists, and specialty hospitals to help diagnose and manage complex cases. His clinical philosophy centers on providing clear, practical answers that help veterinarians make informed treatment decisions while ensuring patients return to the care of their primary veterinarian whenever appropriate.

At Veterinary Outpatient MRI, Dr. Soderstrom performs comprehensive neurological examinations, develops imaging plans tailored to each patient, and collaborates with board-certified veterinary radiologists to integrate MRI findings with the patient's clinical presentation. His goal is to provide referring veterinarians with timely, actionable diagnostic information that supports confident decision-making and continuity of care.

His professional interests include medical and surgical neurology, spinal disorders, oncologic surgery, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and the application of advanced imaging to improve patient outcomes.
